Even among music professionals, few possess dual-voice, a rare ability that allows you to sing both male and female tones. Marcelito Pomoy is one of these once-in-a-lifetime geniuses. Pomoy stands out in the music world with his astonishing dual-voice ability, hitting both the high notes of a soprano and a tenor.

His life story, marked by hardship and resilience, began in Imus, Cavite, Philippines, on September 22, 1984. Facing the adversity of his dad’s imprisonment and his mom’s abandonment, Marcelito and his sibling were left to survive on their own in Manila. A kind-hearted police officer eventually took them in, and Marcelito worked various jobs to contribute to their upkeep.

It was during these early struggles that Marcelito discovered his unique vocal gift. Singing became his escape, leading him to uncover his ability to sing both parts of a duet alone. This talent propelled him into the limelight when, at 25, he auditioned for Pilipinas’ Got Talent. His rendition of “The Prayer” in the show’s finale showcased his seamless transition between voices, clinching him the season 2 crown and catapulting him to stardom. Here is one of Pomoy’s best performances.
