A woman bought the old collapsed house in the street, which was about to be demolished: after restoration, all the neighbours want to live in it.

When Hannah bought the old Victorian house, the family was sad to see it fall into disrepair. Hannah Janickiewicz, a mother of three from Merseyside, England, bought this beautiful Victorian mansion in 2013.

However, the house’s former glory was gone: from the outside, it was cracked and dilapidated, and it would have been better left out.

While the 41-year-old enjoyed the renovation, she knew the house would require a lot of work and money, so she put the project on hold for the time being.

In 2019, Hannah decided to get serious. The villa was so dilapidated that it would have been easier to demolish it, but she wanted to renovate it.

This included replacing all the pipes, laying new floors, changing the windows and even renovating some of the walls. The team took over six months to restore the exterior brick wall.

Hannah had to work hard, but she continually transformed the house by thinking about the design.

“Honestly, it was the worst house on the street. And I wanted to create a bright and open space that could be used. I liked the original look of the house and I tried to preserve its spirit and main features,” Hannah says.

Thanks to the renovation, Hannah managed to transform her home into a jewel of the city. The value of the villa increased by $216,000, but the mother of three has no plans to sell it.
