Rick Harrison, star of Pawn Stars, has broken his silence following the tragic passing of his son, Adam Harrison. Adam, 39, passed away from a fentanyl overdose in Las Vegas on Friday, leaving his family devastated.

“You will always be in my heart! I love you, Adam,” Rick wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post, accompanied by a photo of the two smiling together at a bar.

A family representative, Laura Herlovich, confirmed the heartbreaking news to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, saying, “Our family is extremely saddened by the death of Adam. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Rick shared more details about Adam’s passing and voiced his concerns about the ongoing fentanyl crisis in the United States.

“Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose,” Rick said. “The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It’s flowing over the borders unchecked, and not enough is being done. We must do better to protect our communities.”

Messages of condolence quickly poured in from fans and celebrities alike. Donald Trump Jr. shared his sympathy, commenting, “I’m so sorry, man.”

Adam’s brother, Corey Harrison, also honored his late sibling with a touching Instagram tribute, sharing a childhood photo of the two in a bath. “Wax wtf. I will always love you, bubba,” Corey captioned the post.

Adam was Rick Harrison’s second child from his first marriage to Kim Harrison. While Rick and Corey are well-known for running the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop and starring on Pawn Stars, Adam had a more private life but was reported to have worked with his father at times.

The tragic loss of Adam shines a spotlight on the growing fentanyl crisis. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids, including fentanyl, rose by 56.6% between January 2020 and 2021. The Drug Enforcement Administration describes fentanyl as a Schedule II controlled substance that is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine. As little as two milligrams—less than a grain of salt—can be lethal depending on a person’s body.

Rick’s call to action echoes the need for stronger measures to combat this epidemic.

The Harrison family asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rick, Corey, and the entire Harrison family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

Rest in peace, Adam.
