A 17-year-old teenager finds himself in the situation of having to raise his daughter alone after being abandoned by his parents and partner. He is now looking for advice online to rebuild his life and take care of his daughter in the best possible way.
The young man met the young woman when she was 17, at first they lived together without commitment, trying to live in the present, without planning anything.
However, the surprise came suddenly: she was pregnant.
During the coming months, they tried to raise funds to be able to raise her, but without informing her parents.
The boy’s family had not been informed of the pregnancy and the birth of the child for the first month of his life, initially the new father would sneak out of the house under the pretext of having to look after a child in the neighbourhood: “Sometimes my ex-partner would leave and ask me to stay and look after our daughter, so I had no choice but to look after her while she was away and doing whatever for hours on end.”
But when the parents found out the truth, they were furious: “They kicked me out in the middle of the night and the next day I was given an ultimatum: leave my ex-partner, my daughter and move in with my aunt, or stay with my ex-partner and be excluded from the family.”
The boy eventually opted to stay with his daughter’s mother, but when he discovered she was addicted, he made the decision to leave her and take his little girl.
When he returned, after a few days, his former partner had left, he had not seen her again and had not communicated with her for months.
Currently, the father is eighteen years old, he works full-time in a country club, he does not receive much, he does not have a vehicle, he does not have the opportunity to study at university and he does not have much money saved.
Therefore, after asking for advice on Reddit, the young man tried to get back in touch with his parents, who offered him the opportunity to renew their relationship.
Today, the father and the little girl live in the home of the grandparents on the father’s side, despite the fact that the future of this young man remains uncertain and precarious.
